We serve Christians around the world whose brave faith in Jesus means they are, beaten, threatened, imprisoned, tortured, falsely accused, disowned and hated.

VIETNAM: PRAY FOR 17 YEAR-OLD TIN

pattern

Please join us in praying for 17 year-old TIN*, WHO HAS BEEN facING persecution from HIS familY SINCE HE decided to follow Jesus and leave BEHIND traditional LOCAL beliefs.

Tin is a 17-year-old Christian from the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. Through our local partners in the region, he is asking for our prayers.

In 2022, Tin’s mother, Loan*, was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Following the diagnosis, his father abandoned the family, leaving Tin and his mother to fend for themselves.

Not long after the news of the illness, both Tin and his mum became Christians. But when they became believers, persecution from Tin’s siblings and their relatives quickly followed—they were told that nothing good will come from leaving their traditional beliefs. Because of this, they were left isolated and without support from their loved ones.

Burdened by the threats, isolation and rejection from their family, Tin and his mother fled their hometown to find help in another city. There, they sought refuge and support from a local church, which provided them with temporary shelter. However, Loan’s condition deteriorated significantly.

Seeing their situation, the church raised funds to help Tin return his mother to their hometown. Now, Loan lives with her mother who also struggles to provide for their necessities. Recently, Tin was able to secure a job, which is a huge help in proving for the needs of his mother and grandmother. He now travels back and forth from the city to his hometown to visit and care for them.

Despite all his efforts to help his mum and grandmother, his wider family continue to taunt Tin and Loan for their faith in Jesus, and are not helping them despite Loan’s sickness.

Please pray Loan, Tin’s mother, to know God’s presence and comfort in her sickness. Continue to pray that they will have all they need. Pray that their faith continues to be strengthened amidst the struggles they face. Pray especially for Tin’s mental health, dealing with a sick mum, pressures at work, travelling and being the sole provider is a daunting and stressful situation. Pray he’d know God’s guidance and peace. Pray that Tin’s wider family come to know Jesus.
