We serve Christians around the world whose brave faith in Jesus means they are, beaten, threatened, imprisoned, tortured, falsely accused, disowned and hated.

Central African Republic

World Watch List ranking: 24

SUMMARY

Ongoing conflict in Central African Republic (CAR) has resulted in thousands of Christians losing their homes and livelihoods, with many living in camps for internally displaced people. Most of the country is occupied by armed militia groups who are responsible for a range of human rights abuses. When Christian leaders have publicly denounced the violence, they’ve been threatened, and their churches ransacked and torched. Those who convert from Islam can also face persecution from their family and local community.
