CHINA: CHRISTIAN SCHOOL COMMUNITY RAIDED BY POLICE

Imagine the police coming to your school and arresting your teachers because they were teaching you about Christianity. How would you feel? Worried? Scared? Anxious?

It sounds far-fetched, but in North West China, a small school community set up by Christian parents was raided by police during class hours. Lessons and activities were taking place as usual when the authorities entered the premises, confiscating some educational materials and other related documents.  

This community, founded years ago by Christian parents seeking faith-based education for their children, has faithfully served dozens of students. Several teachers were taken away by the police for interrogation, and the school has been forced to close for now. Students were dismissed, and the future of the community remains uncertain. 

One parent involved in this school community, shared： 

 “The police came well-prepared this time, suggesting that our learning community has been under their watch for some time. Currently, our teachers are undergoing investigation and interrogation, and it’s possible that parents may also be questioned. Both our teachers and parents come from various churches, and we are concerned whether our churches might be implicated as well. May the Lord strengthen our faith—we earnestly pray for His protection and guidance.”
